developed to aid Physical Education Professionals develop web space to
better serve their educational community. |
pe1.org's History
The Beginning:
pe1.org was
developed by
Mr. Scott Tomassetti and began as the url for the Dr.
Ramon E. Betances Physical Education Web site during the summer of 2002.
We had originally been named
http://www.getfit123.com/pe, but found that
name to lengthy for the students, parents, and yes even the teachers to
remember. Thus, PE1.ORG was born. |

The Change:
The idea to change pe1.org into a site
for physical education professionals came about as a need recognized in the
spring of 2003. That spring Mr. Eagle joined Betances Physical
Education as a teacher candidate from Eastern Connecticut State University.
We began to work on Mr. Eagle's site (
http://getfit123.com/mce
) as a portfolio of his
experience at Betances.
Just after Mr. Eagle joined our merry
band, Mr. DeAngello from Central Connecticut State University did his
practicum for his methods class. We also developed a web page for Mr.
DeAngelo to show his CCSU Class some pictures of his work at Betances.
Near the end of the college semester,
after Mr. DeAngelo demonstrated to the class at CCSU our website at pe1.org.
His professor, Dr. Judith Bourel-Miller, the CAHPERD President, ask us to
demonstrate the use of technology to their membership. In preparation for
a hands on experience of web site building, we have expanded pe1.org to
represent the Physical Education Professional. |
RECENTLY;
pe1.org now has many bridges and branches. We have begun the
transformation from a local Connecticut based organization, to having
international physical educators as members. pe1.org has also
developed web portals and classroom management tools for use at the college
level, and web portfolios for college students at Eastern Connecticut State
University. pe1.org most successful venture is
Fitness 1st,
a tool to help the students at Betances School learn lifelong health fitness
techniques and strategies. |
THE FUTURE:
No one can predict the future, but we can foresee pe1.org growing to include
many members, all of whom share the same goal. To develop students
into lifelong learners of healthy lifestyles and activities that make them
happy and productive in our society. |

OUR GOAL:
The goal of pe1.org is to provide an
avenue for Physical Education Professionals to learn, develop, publish,
host, post, and web ring with other Physical Education Professionals.

non-profit group of Physical Education Professionals working together to
produce a high quality web experience for other Physical Education
Professionals. All services provided are either at no cost, or are provided
at cost. Therefore, pe1.org would appreciate it if you would not
