physical fitness/wellness focused, data driven process that utilizes
technology to benefit all students at Betances School gradea 4 to 6.
All web applications were custom designed to be used by Betances students, and are not indented for third parties to use. Most areas are password protected, and require membership authentication to enter. Go to pe1.org for more detail on membership. |

A process that enables students to become self directed learners of lifelong healthy activity. |

Phase 1: Fitness Profiler: This is where students' Physical Fitness Profile is assessed using the Connecticut Physical Fitness Assessment. This Phase usually lasts about a Month, depending upon the frequency that classes meet. (Profiler Presentation) Phase 2: Fitness Planning: This is when students use their fitness profile results to determine which areas of personal fitness to concentrate on. Then they create an action plan to use to target their fitness parameters that need improvement. (Planner Presentation) Phase 3: Fitness Activity and Fitness Logs: Students log their personal fitness activities based on frequency, duration, time, and intensity. Their logs should incorporate activities that have been chosen during the planning stages. In addition, as students learn 'Alternative Physical Fitness Activities', students may choose to replace their existing activities with those taught. Phase 4:
Reassessment or Fitness Profile: Students are reassessed
after 12 weeks of Physical Activity, and the cycle begins again. |
